Jeff Hanson serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of American Healthcare REIT (NYSE: AHR), a healthcare real estate investment trust focused on senior housing and care. He leads the company’s strategy of serving as the preferred capital partner for the best senior housing operators in America – pairing capital with the data analytics, hands-on asset management and institutional resources of an NYSE-listed platform. Trilogy, the operator of AHR’s integrated senior health campuses, is the proof of concept for that model and the blueprint for AHR’s other operator relationships.

Hanson co-founded the healthcare real estate investment platform that became American Healthcare REIT and has led it through each chapter of its growth, including the internalization of management and the company’s listing on the New York Stock Exchange in February 2024. Previously, he served as chairman and chief executive officer of a healthcare REIT that assembled a diversified international portfolio before its sale to NorthStar Realty Finance Corp. in 2014 in a transaction valued at approximately $4 billion.

Earlier in his career, Hanson was one of five executive officers of Grubb & Ellis Company (NYSE: GBE). From 2006 through 2011, he led its national investment management platform of more than 600 professionals overseeing $8 billion in assets.

Hanson has more than three decades of experience in healthcare real estate investment, capital markets, platform development and board governance. He holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration, with a dual emphasis in corporate finance and real estate finance, from the University of Southern California. He has served as a trustee of Fuller Theological Seminary and Sterling College and as a board member of the Young Presidents’ Organization and World Presidents’ Organization.
