Mark Foster serves as General Counsel of American Healthcare REIT, where he oversees the company’s legal affairs. He has more than two decades of experience as a corporate and transactional attorney representing public and private real estate companies through various phases of development and growth.

Prior to joining AHR, Foster was a partner at Snell & Wilmer L.L.P., where he focused on complex real estate and corporate transactions related to the acquisition, financing, leasing, operation and disposition of commercial real property. He previously served as vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of Sabal Financial Group, L.P., a subsidiary of Oaktree Capital Management, where he was responsible for all legal matters related to the company’s management of more than $6 billion in real estate and debt assets. Earlier, he served as regional general counsel with Toll Brothers, Inc. (NYSE: TOL) and senior counsel with Rockefeller Group Development Corporation, and began his legal career at Allen Matkins LLP.

Foster received a bachelor’s degree in international relations, political science and economics from the University of Southern California and a juris doctorate from the USC Gould School of Law. He is a member of the State Bar of California.
